This project included the construction of a 150 ft double plate girder ballast deck bridge at Shermer Road in the Milwaukee Subdivision of Glenview, Illinois. The new bridge steel superstructure was built on temporary shoring / piling adjacent to the tracks. The substructure and caissons were built around the existing tracks and embankment with active train traffic. The new bridge was installed under a curfew track outage. With the bridge in place and trains running on the new bridge, the embankment was excavated and new roadway, drainage structure and sidewalks, were built and the roadway reopened.
